What I Learned About Congo

I have learned many things while doing my blog. I learned that Congo is one of the largest Country near Africa. I learned that Congo is divided that one part of Congo is the Republican and the other is called Democratic. Both Republican and Democratic is the main groups that is fighting head to head with each other.

I learned more about the Zaire River and the goods that they carry across and also the people. The Zaire River is the second largest river from the Nile River. And also the largest Rain Forest. The Zaire River is a really popular River it goes though several Countries near Africa and Congo.

I learned about the wars that happen between Congo and the other Countries. I learned that Congo was one of the most deadly wars than Iraq and many many more other wars.

I learned more about the women and how they were being rapped and a bruised. How the other Countries would captures the women and take them to their place and have them as slave and sex toys. Women would try to kill themselves because of what all was going on to them. All women that got rapped and a bruised all seen the same doctor. The doctor stated that a lot of the women is physically and mentally ill from the things that have happen to them in the past or future.

Congo was really an interesting topic to study and do research on. When if first heard of Congo I was clueless, but when I started my research I was learning about and I learn that Congo is a little bit worst than Africa its self. Congo wars was greater than Iraq and Afghanistan and many more wars put together. Congo was very interesting to me and I enjoyed doing Congo as my topic.

Women in Congo

Jan. 13, 2008 and now the update version which is on Aug. 14, 2008.

The war taking place in Democratic Republic of Congo, more people died in that war than people in Iraq, Afghanistan and Darfur put together.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper made report about the war in last Jan. They say that the war that’s going on in Congo is the most deadliest was since World War 2. In the last ten years five million people have died and the number keeps rising.

Cooper and the 60 minutes team went down to Congo and spend a few months ago. They most frequent targets were the war that was against the women. The men in Congo used weapons to destroy the women families and also rapped the women.

Dr. Mukwege is the director of Panzi Hospital in eastern Congo. In this war against women, his hospital is the frontline. One of the latest victims he’s treating is Sifa M'Kitambala. She was raped just two days before the team arrived by soldiers who raided her village.” http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/01/11/60minutes/main3701249.shtml

In the last ten years hundreds and thousands of women have been raped and most of the rapping was token place by people in gangs.

"All these women have been raped? Cooper asked Dr. Mukwege, standing near a very large group of women waiting.” http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/01/11/60minutes/main3701249.s
html

All the women who have gotten rape were seen by Dr. Mukwege.

Dr. Mukwege says, "You know, they're in deep pain. But it's not just physical pain. It's psychological pain that you can see. Here at the hospital, we've seen women who've stopped living.” http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/01/11/60minutes/main3701249.shtml

Cooper and the team headed to the village in the mountains in eastern Congo called Walungu. Many years armed groups fighting in this region. Thousands of men emerge from the forest and would steal the women and bring them back to the mountains and beat them and rape them and keep them there to be there slaves.

The full name of the Country of Congo is Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Country is in the Central Africa with a small length of Atlantic coastline. Congo is also the third largest Country by Africa. Congo gets the name from the ancient kingdom of Kongo.

Congo has a river that runs throw it that is called the Zaire River. Zaire River is the largest river in western Central Africa. Which makes it the second largest river after the Nile River and also the second largest rain forest in the world? There is a Democratic Republic of the Congo and Republic of the Congo and both lying along the Zaire rivers bank. The Zaire River is what helps the Congo people transport people and their goods across seas.

Congo has had two major wars so far. The first war started in the year of 1996 and ended in the year of 1997. The second war started in 1998. The second war directly involved eight African nations. The war killed about 5.4 million people from disease and starvation. The war ended in the year of 2003, the government created a national unity of 1,000 people died daily in 2004 by malnutrition and also disease.

The women in Congo are like every other woman near or by Africa. All of them treat their women with no respect. The men Congo rapes and buries their women. Moat of there women where kept as slaves. Lots of women killed themselves because of all the things that are or are still going on in their Countries.

Congo is one of the least known Countries out in this world. So many things are being taken place in Congo. Such as the wars, the transporting of goods and people and women getting rapped and beaten. So for me to do research on Congo it is very interesting to me because I never heard anything about Congo.

What Book or Website to Use

As I was doing my research or while am doing my research there is one website I would not use as much as About. com and that’s the Wikipedia website.

Wikipedia isn’t a bad website, but you do have to be very careful because some of the information on Wikipedia is false published information. Wikipedia could kind of add information or take out some of the truth in Wikipedia and replace it with some other false information that really doesn’t have anything to do with the topic, but they would make it seem like it do. Also with Wikipedia someone, anyone could go on the website and make their own page on Wikipedia and would have all type of false evidence on it. So when using Wikipedia you should also use different websites or books to see if the information is the same or kind of the same.

The website I would probably use a lot is About.com. The reason I would use this website is because it has an author of who published the website on to About.com. About.com also shows the up to date news that goes on in Congo or any other Countries. About.com is a good website it shows the real of what’s going on and how it all started. About.com is the number one website I would be using. But I would also make sure that their evidence isn’t false to I will also use more than one website or books to make sure all information matches up.

As for the books the number one book I would use would be the Encyclopedia. Why? Because it to don’t have false information. The Encyclopedia tells the pros and cons of any place or object. Encyclopedia also has an author of who published the information so you could know that it isn’t false information.

Personal

I chose Congo as my topic because of the interesting things my teacher told me about Congo. Congo is one of the least unknown countries by Africa. Many people never even heard about Congo because there is not enough attention focusing on Congo and the problems that go on. Some of the problems that caught my eye was the way they bruised there women. In their country justified or right to beat and rape there women without any condense. But as soon as an outsider does the same thing Congo men are ready to kill them or start a war with them. Other thing that caught my eye was when they hay to train up younger boys to fight and to know how to use weapons so that they could be prepared to fight in the wars with them. The younger boys in Congo become little grown men at a very young age. But as the wars go on a lot of Congo men and kids are or were getting killed. Congo also has this river called the Zaire River that they use to carry goods and that the kidsuse to play in. the river is very huge and also very long. Congo is the topic of my choice because I never heard about Congo at all. I think that it would be very fun to learn about something that I never ever known that existed. It would also be interesting to lots of other people to because Congo is not a much known country at all. It is not a much known country because our news people or any body else it is not a country that we focus on because we barley even focus on Africa and the problems that Africa is having in their Country. So why focus on Congo a country right by Africa.

Congo

The topic of my choice is Congo. Congo is one of the largest countries near Africa.

Congo has had so far two major wars. Which have last for many years? Congo is a country that doesn’t have many people, so they have young teen boys and younger boys to fight in the wars also carrying guns. Many people in the Congo wars get killed at least thousands or more people. It’s not just the people in wars getting killed it’s also indicate people that is getting killed while wars is going on in Congo.

Congo is like Africa. They both treat their women with no respect. While Congo is in wars they would rape the other people women and the country that Congo is fighting or the group that they are fighting would rape Congo’s women. Congo women are under everything and everyone. They are house wives; they cook, clean, and take care of the children. Not really allowed to have a good education or real good paying jobs.

Congo is limited on food and education. They just can’t go to stores like we do and pick up food. Congo people have to grow, clean and sell their food on streets like the street markets. Education is not so big in Congo. Half of their students are mainly younger kids like three to five years old because the rest are either in the wars or prepping on how to be a good house wife.

As Congo being my topic I would like to learn more about: the two wars. When did they being? What made Congo go to war? How many people do they kill and how many of their people die in the wars? I also want to learn more about the women and do they ever get rights in their country? And finally learn more about their education and about their food.
